Polynesian Airlines is Samoa’s government-owned airline, and connects
Apia to Tonga, Niue and American Samoa. North American, Australian and New Zealand
visitors can fly direct on Air New Zealand, or connect via a number of airlines
in New Zealand and Australia. Polynesian Blue flies frequently from New Zealand
and Australia. Be careful to watch your baggage, as irregularities occur
frequently. You will require the local currency, tala, in order to hire a
cab at the airport. A currency exchange is located at the airport. A fee
of $40 tala departure tax is charged upon your exit.
