Upolu Island, Samoa

Upolu is the main island of Samoa with a land area of 1,115 square kilometers and a population of approximately 175,000. Upolu Island has distinct north and south shores with a large mountainous region occupying the interior and separating the north and south shores. This interior region is abundant with a tropical rainforest, trails and waterfalls. The entire coastline of the island is fringed with palm trees, pristine lagoons, sandy beaches and lava rock formations.

Le Vasa Resort is located at Cape Fatuosofia on the western tip of Upolu, just six miles from Faleolo International Airport, 25 miles from the downtown port city of Apia, and three miles from the ferry landing of Mulifanua Wharf, offering boat transport to the beautiful and rustic island of Savai’i.

The island of Manono is only a short boat ride away from our resort, and a traditional village is located just east of the resort, providing opportunities to experience the true Fa’a Samoan culture. Please visit Activities to learn more about our visits to Manono.
